Roofing in Converse, Northeast of San Antonio

Converse was named for a Southern Pacific Railroad engineer who bought the townsite in 1877, and the city grew from 1,383 residents in 1970 to 27,466 in 2020. Roof ages vary with that history. Premier serves Converse from our San Antonio office.

Neighborhoods we serve

Converse sits 13 to 15 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio, bordered by Live Oak, Universal City and Schertz, with the Charles W. Anderson Loop separating it from Randolph AFB.

Local weather and roof issues

On September 11, 2026, NOAA's Storm Prediction Center listed baseball-sized (2.5 inch) hail about 3 miles southeast of Converse. Hail like that can damage shingles unseen from the street. Ask your insurer about Class 4 impact-resistant roofing credits; TDI says each insurer sets its own.

Permits and HOA notes

Converse lists roofing among projects that typically require a permit, and all contractors must hold current city registration before any permit is issued. Permits that skip plan review are issued within a week, per the city. Fees were not listed, so call the Building Clerk at 210-658-8285.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The free inspection includes a 37-point check and photo and video findings.

A repair and a full replacement are priced very differently, and roof size, pitch, materials and any damaged decking all change the number. After your free 37-point inspection you get a written price for your actual roof, not a ballpark. Ask for the photo and video findings so you can compare bids on equal terms.

Photograph any visible damage from the ground, keep any debris, and stay off the roof. Book a free inspection so a HAAG-certified inspector can document hail and wind damage with photos and video, then contact your insurer. Make temporary repairs to prevent more water damage and keep the receipts.

Every one to two years, and after any major hail or wind storm. Small problems like lifted flashing or exposed nails are cheap to fix early and expensive to ignore. Our free 37-point inspection checks the roof, flashing and ventilation and sends you photo and video findings.

In Texas, an insurer can't raise your premium or refuse to renew your policy solely because of a claim for damage from natural causes like hail or wind. Other kinds of claims, or a pattern of several claims, can affect your costs, and your policy terms matter. For your specific situation, check your policy and the Texas Department of Insurance at tdi.texas.gov.

Hail up to 2.5 inches was reported near Converse on September 11, 2026. Photograph any damage you can see from the ground, stay off the roof, and book an inspection so the roof is documented with photos and video. Then check your policy for its claim filing window and wind and hail deductible.
