Roofing in Kyle, from the Auction Oak to Plum Creek

Kyle was founded in 1880 when the railroad came through, and its first lots were auctioned under the tree now called the Auction Oak. The population rose from 28,016 in 2010 to 45,697 in 2020, so roofs range from older downtown properties to new builds. Premier serves Kyle from our San Antonio office.

Neighborhoods we serve

Plum Creek, a golf course community with mature tree canopy. Post Oak, with large lots under mature oaks. Hometown Kyle, Waterleaf and 6 Creeks, mostly built in recent years. Cypress Forest near Kyle Parkway.

Local weather and roof issues

Hail is the main roof risk. On May 22, 2025, golf-ball-sized hail fell in the Uhland-Kyle area, and residents reported damage to roofs, windshields and solar panels, according to Fox 7 Austin. A roofing company advised homeowners to get a roof inspection afterward. Hail bruising is often hard to see from the ground.

Permits and HOA notes

The City of Kyle's Building Inspection Department handles permits at 100 W. Center St. Its permit list does not mention roofing and says to confirm with the department before starting work. Call a permit coordinator at 512-262-3911 to ask if your re-roof needs a permit, and check HOA rules if your neighborhood has them.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The free inspection includes a 37-point check and photo and video findings.

A repair and a full replacement are priced very differently, and roof size, pitch, materials and any damaged decking all change the number. After your free 37-point inspection you get a written price for your actual roof, not a ballpark. Ask for the photo and video findings so you can compare bids on equal terms.

Photograph any visible damage from the ground, keep any debris, and stay off the roof. Book a free inspection so a HAAG-certified inspector can document hail and wind damage with photos and video, then contact your insurer. Make temporary repairs to prevent more water damage and keep the receipts.

Every one to two years, and after any major hail or wind storm. Small problems like lifted flashing or exposed nails are cheap to fix early and expensive to ignore. Our free 37-point inspection checks the roof, flashing and ventilation and sends you photo and video findings.

In Texas, an insurer can't raise your premium or refuse to renew your policy solely because of a claim for damage from natural causes like hail or wind. Other kinds of claims, or a pattern of several claims, can affect your costs, and your policy terms matter. For your specific situation, check your policy and the Texas Department of Insurance at tdi.texas.gov.

If you have solar panels, photograph the panels and roof from the ground, stay off the roof, and tell your installer and insurer about any damage. Fox 7 reported solar panel damage after hail in the Uhland-Kyle area in May 2025. Our free inspection documents the roof with photo and video findings.
